Smith Lake Pups Cavapoos
I have such a soft spot for our Cavapoos, and I’m so excited to share them with you. Each of our F1 Cavapoo puppies is thoughtfully bred from a 100% purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a 100% purebred Toy or Miniature Poodle, creating puppies known for their affectionate personalities, gentle nature, and beautiful coats.
Right now, the puppies you see below are still with us, receiving their final touches, lots of love, and thorough veterinary checks to make sure they’re healthy and ready for their next chapter. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we anticipate each puppy will be ready to go home on the pickup dates listed.
Cavapoos have the sweetest way of settling right into a home. Their gentle nature, affectionate spirit, and love for togetherness make them wonderful companions for families of all shapes and sizes. Watching these puppies grow into little shadows who simply want to be close brings me almost as much joy as sharing them with families who will cherish them as much as I do.
If you’re wondering how a Cavapoo might fit into your daily rhythm — from kids and busy schedules to quiet evenings at home — I’m always happy to help you think it through.

A Little More About Our Cavapoos
Cavapoo - a mix between a poodle and a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
If you’re drawn to Cavapoos, I completely understand why — they’re one of the most loving and gentle breeds we raise. Cavapoos are cherished for their sweet temperaments, low-shedding coats, and their natural ability to fit right into family life. They adore people, are wonderful with children, and rarely meet a stranger they don’t love.
One of the things I hear most from families is how calm and cuddly their Cavapoo is. They aren’t big barkers, they’re incredibly affectionate, and they truly thrive on being close to the people they love. Whether it’s playtime or snuggle time, Cavapoos just want to be part of your world.
Why Families Love Cavapoo
(These advantages are typically the case but cannot be guaranteed to be true of each individual doodle puppy.)
There are so many reasons Cavapoos steal hearts so quickly. One of the biggest advantages is hybrid vigor, which often results in a healthier dog overall. Their coats are typically low-shedding and considered allergy-friendly for many families, making them a popular choice for homes with sensitivities.
Cavapoos are also known for their calm, quiet personalities. They’re gentle, patient, and usually fantastic with children. As a smaller doodle breed, they’re easy to manage while still having plenty of personality packed into a perfectly sized companion.
The Cavapoo Personality
Cavapoos truly get the best of both worlds. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are famously loving, gentle, and loyal — classic lap dogs who want nothing more than to be by your side. Miniature Poodles bring intelligence, playfulness, and confidence to the mix. They’re one of the most intelligent dog breeds in the world and are also known for their long, healthy lifespans.
When you combine these traits, you get a Cavapoo that is affectionate, trusting, intelligent, and deeply people-oriented. They’re not known for aggression, are incredibly patient with children, and tend to be calm and quiet in the home. And yes — they absolutely love to cuddle.
Cavapoo Care & Maintenance
Cavapoo maintenance can vary slightly depending on which parent’s coat they take after. Some Cavapoos have a curlier, more Poodle-like coat, while others lean a bit more toward the Cavalier side. Most Cavapoos are low-shedding, but regular brushing is important to keep their coats healthy and free from tangles.
I generally recommend brushing at least once a week, with more frequent brushing for curlier coats. Like all dogs, Cavapoos will also need regular nail trims and occasional grooming appointments throughout the year to keep them comfortable and looking their best.
Typical Cavapoo Colors
One of the fun surprises with Cavapoos is how their colors can vary from litter to litter. At Smith Lake Pups, our most common Cavapoo colors are Red and Red & White. From time to time, we may also have Blenheim, Apricot, Cream, Tri-Color, Black & Tan, or Black Cavapoos. Each puppy is beautifully unique, and their coloring only adds to their charm.
