Smith Lake Pups King Charles Cavalier Spaniels

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are truly something special. Their gentle eyes, loving hearts, and calm presence make them one of the most affectionate breeds I’ve ever worked with. Our Cavaliers are 100% purebred and raised with great care, intention, and plenty of hands-on love from the very beginning.

The puppies you see below are still here with us, enjoying daily interaction, early socialization, and thorough veterinary care as they prepare for their next chapter. Outside of extenuating circumstances, we anticipate each puppy will be ready to go home on the pickup dates listed. These early weeks are incredibly important to us, and we take our time making sure every Cavalier feels secure, confident, and loved.

There’s a quiet tenderness to Cavaliers that’s hard to describe until you’ve known one. Their gentle eyes, patient hearts, and deep loyalty make them incredibly comforting companions. Being part of their beginning and seeing the peace they bring to their families means the world to me.

If you’re drawn to a Cavalier and want to talk about whether their calm, people-focused nature fits your home and lifestyle, I’d love to have that conversation with you.

Life with a King Charles Cavalier

King Charles Cavalier - The result of breeding two purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Cavaliers are known for their gentle, affectionate personalities and their deep devotion to their families. They are happiest when they’re close to the people they love, whether that means curling up beside you or quietly following you from room to room.

They tend to be patient, calm, and incredibly sweet-natured, making them a wonderful choice for families with children, retirees, or anyone looking for a loyal companion. Cavaliers thrive on connection and are content simply being part of everyday life.

Why Families Fall in Love with Cavaliers

(As with any puppy, individual traits can vary, but these characteristics are very common within the breed.)

There’s a reason Cavaliers are often described as one of the most loving companion breeds. They are emotionally intuitive, affectionate, and naturally eager to please. Their friendly demeanor makes them wonderful with children and welcoming to guests.

Cavaliers are small enough to be easy to manage, yet sturdy and confident in their presence. They adapt well to many living environments and bring a sense of calm and comfort into the home.

The Cavalier Personality

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are gentle, trusting, and deeply affectionate. They are not known for aggression and tend to be very patient and kind-hearted. Cavaliers are social dogs who enjoy companionship but are not typically overly demanding or vocal.

They balance playfulness with a calm, relaxed temperament, making them wonderful cuddle companions. Cavaliers are happiest when they’re close to their people, offering quiet companionship and unconditional love.

Cavalier Care & Grooming

Cavaliers have soft, silky coats that require routine brushing to keep them healthy and free from tangles. Weekly brushing is usually sufficient, along with regular nail trims and ear care to keep them comfortable.

While their grooming needs are moderate, consistent care helps keep their coat beautiful and their ears clean and healthy. With a little regular maintenance, Cavaliers are easy to care for and a joy to have at home.

Typical Cavalier Colors

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are known for their beautiful and classic coloring. Common colors include Blenheim (chestnut and white), Ruby, Black & Tan, and Tri-Color. Each puppy’s markings are unique, adding to their charm and individuality.
